TUAN CHAU CRUISE TERMINAL
Tuan Chau, Vietnam
Ha Long Bay has historically been a popular tourist destination. Nearly 2000 limestone islets emerge from the water creating a remarkable phenomenon of natural beauty and interest.
The developer wished to repurpose the existing resort complex into a more upscale destination with a variety of accomodation types including new high rise luxury hotels. The terminal complex will not only serve as a point of embarkation but contain a program of retail and entertainment support services. Inspiration for the architectural development is derived from the Non La traditional Vietnamese pointed hat, lotus blossom pads, and the tail islets themselves that sprout from the bay.
